This post contains an array of renders from my capstone film, Limelight, which I co-produced with Siobhan Gannon (@Siobhanimator on instagram). While we both worked on lighting, I took the lead on environment design, sound, and rendering. This is one of my favorite projects because the environments represent a different style from my Junior Film, God Rays, and forced me to learn new techniques. While most of the models were initially created in Maya (or Houdini, in the case of the curtain simulation!), they were eventually brought into an early version of Unreal Engine Five. In UE, I was able to leverage various Quixel models & materials as well as some toon shaders from Christopher Sims. Bringing together Siobhan's characters and animation with my environments inside of Unreal taught as a new pipeline and helped us prepare for future jobs that will leverage this exciting software package!
UPDATE: While I cannot at this time publicly share a link to the full film (due to festival restrictions/requirements), I am excited to announce that we were officially selected for 8+ festivals!
